It was brand new, and on about the third time of using it, it stopped charging. That was several years ago. I was able to retain the battery, and I see in some threads that someone has been able to replace the BCM and breathe new life into it I don't know what is wrong with it, butI would love to have a second battery for my bike please contact me xxxxxx@xxxxxxx. Buy a Bosch e-bike, get screwed sooner or later-- by design. It's sad but true, and that's why I will never advise anybody to get a Bosch bike at any price. It carries a curse.

If the battery has been sitting discharged for several years, then it's likely dead and beyond repair. Charging it would be dangerous and should only be conducted outdoors and under direct supervision.

If the BMS died, then you'd need to get the part and replace it, or have Bosch replace it.
The bike/system is proprietary, so it's like you're in a bad marriage now. It may have been nice in the beginning, but the honeymoon is over. I don't think you could buy the part as a consumer, but I bet they'd be happy to charge you and arm and a leg to allow them to replace it. And after they do, you'll just have a damaged battery with a new BMS.
If you need a second battery, just buy one. Like a good spouse, Bosch will fully support you spending that money on yourself.

Does charger have a switch? Try turning charger on then connecting battery. Also try connecting battery then turn charger on. If charger has no switch. Turn on by plugin it in. Try leaving charger connected to battery for a few days. Try prayer. Try reading instructions that came with bike. instructions on how to charge.

Does charger have lights showing it's plunged in and getting power?

Take pictures of charger, battery, and all wire connectors. Show close up of pins in connectors. Bosch e bike experts here should be able to tell you how to test charger and battery.
