I have a problem...

So I received my two 48v 20ah packs that I ordered from Victpower in Hong Kong only to find out the the 30a powerpole connector cables I bought from ebikes.ca are not the same as the 50a multipoles that are on the battery...

I bought the y splitter for putting two batteries in parallel and figured it would be plug and play (http://ebikes.ca/store/photos/DualBattCable.jpg)

I know the powerpole positive and negative can be disconnected from each other in order to have two separate connectors, but even then the metal tabs on the 50a anderson replica are just a bit to big to fit in the smaller 30a housing...

Any ideas? Recommendations?

On another note, the chargers that I bought seem to be non functional. I plugged them in and it states: LED1: Red=Power LED2:Red=Charging Green=Charged and when I plug the pack in and plug the charger into the wall only led1 lights up red... led2 shows no activity.

Please help me! I would be infinitely grateful to anyone with a solution...

Could I remove the 2 connectors from the splitter/battery cable connection then hard wire the splitter to the battery cable and install the 2 connector sets I have now freed on the battery packs?

according to this : http://www.powerwerx.com/techdata/PP45.pdf I should not have any problems as my controller is limited to 45amps anyways.

Let me know what you think? Oh and also does anyone have links to info on removing/installing these connectors? I understand the crimped part will already have been crimped but I am hoping there is a way of saving them as I do not really access to any to this kind of electronics around me.

just cut off the ones you don't want on the battery and solder on the free end of that cable. use some heat shrink on top of a few turns of tape.

Free end of the cable is already mated with the cycle analyst shunt...

I am really not sure what to do... Any other ideas? I would love to keep the ability of plugging one or both of the battery packs. If the packs had the right connectors I could do this right now.

So to clear things up to avoid confusion here is my setup:

This cable: http://ebikes.ca/store/photos/BattCable12.jpg is connected to the cycle analyst shunt using the free end with no connectors.
The other end of that cable is connected to this y splitter: http://ebikes.ca/store/photos/DualBattCable.jpg using the connector on the other end. (plan was to be able to connect one battery pack or both in parallel depending on planned distance I was to cover...) and obviously the 2 ends with connectors on the y splitter were to connect with the battery packs.

First question is, do you need more than a 45 amp powerpole for your application? If not, cut the 50 amps ones off, and attach new 45 amp pp's, which will plug and play with your other stuff. 45's and 30's both fit the same housing.

Better still, replace all the contacts with 45's. Contacts are cheap. Powerwerks. Buy a few more housings, and a bag of 45 amp contacts.

So after all I did find a place locally that had "anderson" (tyco) 50amp multipole connectors. Bought four and installed them (2 on battery packs and two on y splitter...). Controller is limited at 45amps. With the two 48v20ah in the rear pannier bag feels like I am driving a tugboat or something though...

Today I had my first experience riding an ebike.
I was totally blown away. How awesome this truly is.

So unique and efficient it is just mind boggling.

I owe you guys/gals so much i don't even know where to start. Without this forum I would have had no clue how to proceed. With this forum I was able to do in depth research and build something that perfectly suited my needs at a very reasonable cost.
