I have ordered 36V 10 Ah battery + 8Amp charger from Don Harmon LifeBatt company in Las Vegas.
I think that all of you who want to purchase from him and JG /group purchase/should follow this thread closely.
There has been some doubts about Don honesty and outright insults on him on this forum.
I spent about an hour on tel with him calling him several times in Las Vegas.
Also exchanged close to 10 e-mails with him.
He seems like busy person.
He for sure must be getting tons of enquieries about his batteries with prices of gasoline like this.
I must say he and his associate Michelle responded to my e-mails very fast /within minutes!!/ of sending my e-mails.
Generally I feel good about dealing with him.
I will be reporting about progress with my order on this thread so please, come back to read.
I hope Don doesn't mind, he has nothing to hide to deal up front honestly with me.
So far my Master Card has been charged , not sure if order placed with Factory in Taiwan yet.

Ok. You have ordered battery, so tell us: each single one battery is ordered indyvidually at Taiwan factory ? And indyvidually shipped from Taiwan ?

If Don's Taiwan factory is under processing 100 000 cells contract why he is unable to offer cells or batteries in US from shelfs ready ?
Why he offering subscriptions for cells with very short warranty period ?
Are you surpriced than people are cautious ?

If you are technical person and go visit LifeBatt virtual tour of Taiwan factory on their web site you immediately see that this is NOT any flight by night operation. Close up pictures of opened batteries tell everything: quality, quality, quality.
Pictures of electronics tell also: quality. No messy Chinese hand-made soldering here.
Cases are precision, solid. No doubt they have quality and testing done in factory, you can see racks of batteries on long term tests.
Show me another LiFePh manufacturer with such quality and I will consider.
To me it is worth to pay more for quality.
As Michelle told me they combine several orders before placing order with Taiwan.
So basically I have to wait untill several orders are combined.
As she says it takes maximum 3 weeks to actually receive order at home. Taiwan uses only UPS.
I don`t know what is current status of group purchase of 100 000 cells , I cannot read , because I am not a memebr on Yahoogroup, I didn`t singned up on the deal.
You see keeping stock of cells or batteries is "frozen" money and wait for customer?
You have to understand he cannot maintin stock.

Seems iffy to me, pictures are easy to get, doenst mean they are legit(I am sure they are real, but I wouldnt base such an expensive purchase on pics alone). Dont they have to make the battery pack once they get the cells? Then test them, that takes a while. My cheap Lifepo4 from ping went through a 2 week build and testing phase to ensure proper operation. Mine wont handle as many amps as a lifebatt, but I only need 500-1000 watts. And it only cost me 530$ shipped 48v15Ah.

Got an e-mail from Michelle from LifeBatt Las Vegas that my order had been placed with R&D factory in Taiwan.
I paid US$750 for 36V 10 Ah just like on LifeBatt web site.
Next thing I need is UPS tracking number which would proof that shipment is on the way.
Maybe it will reach Canada in 2 weeks from now but I doubt I will get it at my door in 2 weeks/customs/.

i am sitting here ans staring at 32 lifebat cells. they sure do not look like they were made in someones garage.

the cells themselves are very high quality. heck even the shipping box is high tech. 8 cells to a cardboard carton. each cell is cradled in its own space and all of the cells separated from the others by cardboard spacers. really a quality pro job, right down to little details like the box they are shipped in.

now i am thinking about doing a hardcase for these cells. i was thinking about doing one out of some PVC

sorry for talking about my order in public ,
I hope you are not against.
I realize that I am the first one from this community to order HPS pack from you, if not correct me.
But very purpose of this thread is to proof that to contrary what others says you are honest man with honest company.
I think many here will have no reason to throw more mud,close their mouth when my dealings with you go well, pack is installed unchanged on my bike, delivers say 40A with no voltage sag on my Watts Up /as ask Sparky section says/, delivers 10A at max 20 A load.
Yes, I did my research, but no matter what Don, TRUST is above all.
I came to concusion - I don`t care what are origins of disputed cell as long as it delivers as promised. Period.
I don`t care where my pack was assembled, tested, packed, etc. as long as it delivers as promised. Period.
Do I try to find out if my Nortel phone was really made by Nortel?
Or by Sanmina/factory I worked for which assemled products for Nortel/ contractor?
Heck NO! My Nortel phone works well not worse than Panasonic.
You see my point.

I do indeed Miroslaw. In fact you are not the first to buy the HPS Packs for an ebike, well maybe for a bike, but Josh Kerson has ordered several packs for his trikes. And his boss has re-ordered more for their new projects. Josh hangs out on the Power Assist Group so you probably won't hear about it here. As far as where your pack is being made, we now have everything under one roof in our new building in Taipei. LiFeBATT occupies the entire 4th level and we have our production line, engineering team, scientists, and production line all in one place. It takes a lot to build an enterprise, and I have always tried to share our venture with this group of people because I truly love the e-bike world and started out by designing the RAPTOR ( http://www.boomerbents.com) and having it mfg. over in Taiwan - which led me to partner with the same guys on LiFeBATT. We are like an extended family and I did not have to share anything with these forums, but I made the effort because other LiFePO4 companies refuse to give you (me) any consideration at all.

For my open and honest efforts I have been often attacked an my personal integrity challenged by certain individuals on this board and others, but what I have learned is their personal attacks on me an LiFeBATT are just a mask for their lack of any real knowledge of what it takes to build a new enterprise from the ground up. It's much easier to take shots at someone like me than to do anything themselves to make a difference. I just let it roll off my back now, because as LiFeBATT grows and we prove our products in the marketplace and customers like you who actually make a decision and buy the product report back, these critics will move on to the next convenient target for their personal amusement.

If everything that LiFeBATT promised you is not to your satisfaction when you get your pack please let us know ? If you do like what you get, please let this group know too as we try very hard to make all of our customers very satisfied.

The factory tour Looks pretty impressive!! must of took ages for you to make up all those shots in photoshop you are quite the compositor! no really looks like a top notch outfit, the cells are looking more and more impressive all of time, Ian from Lifebatt UK is a very helpful chap and has asked me to pop down and see him when the order comes in so we can have a chat and talk batteries and e-bikes!! I very much doubt Ping would offer me the same level of hospitality and I doubt his manufacturing plant is quite as hi tech as this!

I am not bashing ping but it needs pointing out that they are not competitive products and can not be levelled against each other in any way, I hope the folks on here have many happy and healthy years of service with their ping packs.

Don you will always sadly have to put up with folks who dont share your views, there have been a few spats with folks on here in the past but I think everyone has to move on and put things past themselves to improve things in the future, hopefully the UK group buy will help promote the sale of these cells in the UK and in turn the sales of fast affordable electric bikes or cars, at this cell price it starts to become seriously feasible to run your car from them, esp when here in the UK we have seen 4 dollars a litre! yes thats right 4 dollars a litre of petrol!! things start to make a whole lot of sense to go electric.

I don`t think pictures was altered in any way.
I think that no LifeBatt stickers could be superimposed on black battery boxes if you closely look at them.
There might be taken in different buildings....can be speculated forever.
I want to tell one thing:
honestly I do not care if others use this cell with different label/shrink , final product is LifeBatt and pictures of inside packs don`t lie. HMS packs are the best I ever seen inside of any pack. Even Toyota PRIUS NMH pack doesn`t look as neat and well engineered as HMS pack. I work in manufacturing of control panels and I know good and bad engineering.
Example, good batt pack will use copper foil strip to connect cells, not just regular wires. Why strip narrows at one place?

Let's just wait and see how the batteries perform. They look nice enough. I had thought that Lifebatts were not allowed to be sold for e-bikes? Has that changed? Or was I mistaken to begin with?
