Hello everyone,

My Li-po charger (bought from Cyclone-tw) has mysteriously stopped working. I've checked all the fuses and they are all intact but I still get nothing from the charger. If any one wants to sell me one they can have mine for the spare parts...

Otherwise...

Does anyone know where I can get a Lipo charger for a 7s pack (i.e. 26v)? I'm in the UK so I need 240v compatibility as well. I know hyperion makes a very expensive and full-featured charger but I think that's more than I need. On the other hand, flexibility to charge 8s to 12s would be nice in case I decide to get another setup all together in the future. Thanks for your help!

Personally i think it's worth the expense for a good quality charger, get the best one you can justify/afford.

I'm about to xysterize my LiFe pack with 16 single cell chargers.. and that sucketh...

What sucketh? Just blockify the connectors (like with powerpoles) to enjoy the convenience of a single charger, with the modularity, automatic battery balance, and cheap replacement benefits of lotsa little chargers. Best of both worlds, IMO.

Thanks for the replies guys. One thing I forgot to mention though is that I bring my charger with me sometimes and charge at work. Portability is almost a necessity. Could it be possible to use a Milwaukee charger with my pack? I been thinking of increasing my Ahs by supplementing my current Li-po pack with one or two Milwaukee v28s. Now that I think about it - it's probably not feasible since the nominal voltage of emolis is higher I think...

cheers!

Absolutely nothing happens... I've looked carefully inside at all the connections but couldn't make out what was wrong.

BTW - I'm actually from Canada but married to a British girl...

I know there are a few Canadians on the forum.

Soooo... I was thinking maybe someone from the UK could help me out but it seems my post has gone unnoticed. Any suggestions as to who I could PM?

Cheerio !

I don't know what charger you have, but I do know most Lipo chargers will refuse to charge a battery if the voltage drops below 2.8v per cell. Its a safety cut off, as a over discharged Lipo cell has a high probability of exploding when charged.

Its possable to bring the voltage back up on a cell thats over discharged, but its tricky, dangerous, and slow.

Thanks for the tip drunkskunk... but I made sure not to discharge the battery too much when discovered the charger wasn't working. I've got a cycleanalyst which showed 26v for my 7s pack right before I found my charger had died. So I'm not woried about over discharge.

I've been looking at the MRC 989 but it's too expensive for what I need it to do.

Any suggestions?

I really miss my bike...

Try checking all the wires coming from between cells.
