I saw an ad for an IES Centaur today. It's a tempting purchase for the price, but its motor looks very unfamiliar, and I don't want to buy a dud just for a bargain.

Has anyone seen a motor set up like this? It's got 36V SLA a weighs 88lb! I am curious if that motor could be removed and reattached to another bike.

What country are those built in? Those worm drives are said to be very inefficient. Somebody posted in the non hub section, a picture of a motor in front of the bottom bracket like that. I wonder if an RC type motor with gear drive would be possible, Curriestyle.

Looks to be the motor from a power wheel chair to me, I used one of my first ebike it sucked batteries like crazy, but had crazy torque.
