Hi Guys,
I am trying to build my ebike and its control system entirely from scratch. I am using a 58V (when fully charged) battery to power a MAC motor through a 12FET Infineon controller. I am going to need to draw about 5A from the battery which I step down to a 12V bus (lights, etc) and a 5V bus (control and sensing system). I am planning to take this from the battery voltage connection on the cycle analyst plug provided by the controller. Will this be able to power my system or is there a better way to wire it?
Thank you for your help!

I personally wouldn’t ask 5A continuous from that wiring but I don’t really know enough - curious what better informed folks will suggest?

1A shouldn’t be a problem since IIRC that’s the rating for the self-recovery fused accessory plug.

For 5A I would parallel from the main battery power to controller wiring and/or connector.

Do you mean that you are going to draw 5 amps @ 60 volts and step that down to 12 and 5 volts ?
That is 300 watts ... enough to drive a small hub motor. I am thinking that you need a heavier gauge wire.

If you are talking about using the Battery Voltage Supply plug then you have another limiting factor ...BAT Power Plug.jpg
