To activate the cruise control option on an EB206 controller, is it simply a matter of wiring in a switch or does the option need to be activated (selected) via programming software as well?

I just opened my controller (EB206-AS-1) and this board doesn't have the 2 adjacent pads to interconnect. There is just a lonely connection point labelled CR. I assume I have to bridge this to a ground point?

Yes, any GND will do.

You know if you bridge the CR / GRD you will have automatic cruise. If you hold the throttle steady for 6 seconds or so it will go into cruise.

The best way is to run wires from the two pads so you can turn it on or off when needed. I have a push button on the handlebars to engage cruise. Change the throttle position or pushing the button again will disengage it.

Safer this way, you won't be suprised when it comes on. Ebrakes will also disengage it if you run them.

It's just a thought on the jumper not being permanent.

I will be wiring to the red button on the thumb throttle to activate cruise. Is 6 seconds the default cruise setting for infineons?
I used servo cable to connect to the board. The wire is very fine (~26g). I would think it is thick enough.

i have a 3 speed switch and a momentary swtich [also with only 1 wire connected, another missing???] and i cant get to make it work to switch between throttle and 3 speed switch... Should i just add ground to the momentary switch to make it work then? thanks!

Shorting CR (White) to GND enables manual Cruise Control, and this is accomplished with a momentary switch on the handlebar.

The Delay for engagement is programmable in the Firmware. The feature is called "Auto Cruise Time" or words to the effect, and the value of the setting is in seconds.

I have mine set to 7 seconds which is actually a fairly long time - but it avoids accidental setting which can be unnerving when unexpected.

If you have CR always shorted to GND, then Cruise will occur automatically depending on the programmed value in the Firmware. As I said, I don't like this feature to engage in this manner and would rather have direct control when and how.

Cruise can be disabled by EBrake, changing Throttle, or touching CR to GND again.

FWIW, I wished Cruise worked like the Auto Industry standard with accelerate and decelerate features. Guess I'll have to roll my own.

- can you have both auto cruise and manual cruise at the same time, so rider can pick between which method to activate cruise
