Hi i have a eu bike with bafang 300 modest drive where all the wireing is integrated in to the frame from the controll box except for the display port.I want to add throttle to my bike and read that i need to buy a split cable,Im a complete noob with e bikes and motors in general,so i bough a 4 split cable with higo throttle port,I thought that all i had to do was connect the split cable to the existing port for the display and then connect the throttle to the correct higo port but now that i got it i figured out it is a lot more complicated than that...

so far i have come to the understanding that i need to open the controll box and somehow take all the wires out of the bike frame and connect the split cable directly to the controller,is this correct? if so it seems like alot of labour and i dont think i have the knowledege to do all of that, well i just want to get some insigts and tips from people with more experience than me,perhaps there is a other way?

thanks in advance

Unless the system was already designed to run with a throttle, and is programmed to do so, you can't add one to the existing system.

I'm guessing this "split cable" you're talking about is meant to hook up to the PAS sensor input, but that's not the same kind of input a throttle requires, so it wont' work that way, regardless of where you hook it up.

But without details on exactly how your system was designed and what options it had available I couldn't tell you for sure what you might be able to do to add a throttle to it as it is now.

The only certain way to add a throttle is to replace the display and controller with a different set that come with a throttle; you may also have to replace the PAS setup to be compatible with the new controller.
