Guys.

Today i just received a 18 mosfet controller from crystalyte.

At the first look, it use a VERY similar board to the infineon.

some big difference are:

-530uF more capacitor capacity
-12 gauge Nylon wire for phase and current input
-4 shunt
-The Board name is EB218-A-1 and the date is 2009-03-28
-The uC is XCK J8B116A 09122
The mosfets are FB4110 I*R 744P
-The Voltage regulator use a IC AS893M
-the regulator resistors are 3x 1.2K in parallel.
-The aluminium bar for sinking mosfet heat is anodized(this is not the best) and is fixed with only 6 screw on the center width of the case.

I still had not plugged it ..

I just wonder if to use it at 100V it would be safe to use these stock "copy" of the 4110.. I mean if they have the same max voltage tolerance loke the true IR mosfets.. and also if the resistors of the regulator must be changed...

---PLEASE NOTE THAT IN THE FIRST PIC.. THE GREY CASE IS NOT THE CASE OF THE CRYSTALYTE CONTROLLER----

very very veryyyy nice..

I wish they'd start hard-coat anodizing heat spreader bars!
No need for the sheet of insulating material between the FETs and the bar, allowing the FETs to run much cooler. If they're already paying for standard anodizing, why not do hard-coat?

Just ranting...

I hate to break the news to you guys....

THAT IS THE EXACT SAME BOARD I AM GETTING FROM KEYWIN

And those 4110's are fake btw Doc... But you know that.

So.. lol.. Looks like you will have 2 of them Doc
The 18 fet that Doc is comparing this board to is the old 18 fet board.

Only the most superficial differences - those differences are due to where the parts were ordered.

Oh boy... Here comes trouble

-methods

The heatsink is better made. Your fet spacing is much better. My fets look like broken teeth!

(3) 1.2K in parallel puts that board in the 50V - 64V range.
Swap those out for a combination that gives you more like 600 ohms (1.8K x 3)

So how do you like them apples? lol... The new Infineon board and the new Christalyte board are the same thing.
I wonder if they are running the exact same firmware?
Chip swaps!

We need to strip down both boards and put them up against eachother
If there are differences in how they are populated we can sort out the undocumented features.

The first crystalyte 72V 35A analog controller i had ( past 2 years) and that i still have had the true IRFB4710.. a true International Rectifier mosfet.. so i dont know why they could have done this move with counterfait mosfets...

Maybe it's not the same for the 12 or 9 or 6 mosfet controlerl from crystalyte...

I have the same controller waiting for my build. It's a pity about the fake mosfets, I'll replace mine if they blow. Any chance you could let me know what all the plugs do. I've mailed Kenny asking for a description but he hasn't responded yet.
