Jeep Rolls Out Battery-Powered Renegade

Chrysler brought this concept car to the Detroit Auto Show. It is an electric "Trail Rated" off road vehicle with a lithium-ion battery pack and a diesel engine to extend the range to 400mi with fuel efficiency at 110mpg

Yeah that's pretty cool. I've been wanting to do an electric Wrangler for a while but it would take too much cash to do it right. I'd have to do lots of Lithiums and a big motor capable of regen so it would be big bucks, but it could be an awesome machine. Maybe someday. I already have the axles, frame, transfer case and springs. I'd use a fiberglass body for weight savings and to avoid rust.
