jondoh's electric car

Salutes and congratulations! You are truly an EV guy... scooter, ebike and now car.

Looking forward to details!

You remembered my goped scooter? Wow. I still have it (despite trying to sell it once). I still use it from time to time. My poor bike is feeling neglected now that i'm driving all the time.

Yeah, you've been an inspiration to many. Glad to see you're still EVing and expanding the fleet!

So as to not duplicate your efforts; post a link here if you have your car details on EValbum.

Kudos,

Great job! I think using a manual transmission is one of the best options for a conversion, instead of a reversible motor and direct-drive. I have read that others have ended up using only 2 of the forward gears, do you also find this to be a good method for this set-up?

How do you moderate power between shifts?

What are the volts and top speed?

Oh wow... that's so badass! Congrats and thanks for sharing!! Now... get down to brass tacks for us. Details on that EVComponents pack? Volts. Speed. Range. Etc. etc. Inquiring minds want to know! Looks like it's got decent acceleration to boot.

Ok. So for gears, i'm using 1st, 2nd, and 4th. For some reason it wont shift nicely into 3rd. I don't know why. To shift, you just left off the accelerator for 2 seconds and then shift. You can't down shift very well and since there's no engine breaking, there's no need to do that.

They system is 72v and 100 ah of thundersky. these are nice batteries. Top speed is 53 mph and range is 25 mile to 75% depth of discharge.
