Hello makers
I have been developing my own GPS tracker for last year. I have had some plans with this board, but can not finish it. So decided to put it out for hobbyist and LoRa fans.
It is great dev board for discovering IoT world and to be quick on the right track (working codes and decoders). Compatible with Arduino and also other platforms - going over old good CP2102.
Examples and working code for GPS tracker and DHT20 temperature and humid sensor over LoRa WAN Helium network (Helium console max 10 devices, very chaep packets 100 000 GPS locations = 1USD). UI and back-end in great free software - Traccar. Very user friendly app and has everything it should have have. Also phone App!
With some basic skills with Arduino, you have it up and running in 30 minutes.

On the left is Chirp in simple 3D printed case as remote temperature meter with DHT20. 450mAh battery can last for 6 months with 20 minute sending interval. Very low consumption 17uA in Deep Sleep. (GPS has +24uA)

Traccar - great software and works as a charm on a free server. You can run your Traccar server, software for free.

Very simple to add new Chirp tracker to app. Just add DevEUI number of Chirp. (of course Helium console needs to be set - will be step by step written how to, just dont wanna spend month with writing documentation and then nothing.

Great precision - latest uBlox GPS chip. With 'GPS Always ON while moving' you can track for 20 hours with 450mAh battery (low sending interval 10s)
Got quite long distance on a simple wire antenna - 140km (top of mountaint to top mountain). I am planning to put into the ebike carbon frame.
Check here Helium network coverage - Helium World - click on IoT. Green hex dot means there is a Helium Access point so reach is much more. It is great technology, people were building LoRa network as got some rewards. Over 800 000 Helium Access Points in 2 years!
In cities is not a problem with a reception. Do not expect tracking in a mountains. But your traccked bike or any asset must come one day to the city.
If needed more than 10 LoRa devices, then over some other LNS provider. But is more expensive. Like Meteoscientific (tested), TTN, ChirpStack ...
Data from Chirp are also stored in a Google sheet. You can do your own telemetry logger, move detector, zero g detector, some easy remote controll (there is few user pins) and many other implementations.


It is not cheap thought
, as hand build from expensive components. K1 Chirp Light - 49 Eur - for DHT20 remote temperature sesnsor for example or data logger if you do not need GPS.
