it's a possibility. nobody can tell without knowing which controller you purchased. there isn't a way to convert a sensored controller to sensorless. if it's dual mode, then it would operate sensorless when there are no halls plugged in.

maybe you can post a link before you buy the replacement.

I guess you re-order a KT square wave controller that has no hall sensor inputs.. They don;t seem to take very long to ship to the US from China . Maybe 10 days.

By any chance you saw a KT Controller 48V 500W 25A compatible with sensorless motor, anywhere on ali-express?

Hey thanks your reply!
Thats the one i purchased :

Right now i left the controller sensors cables unplugged and only connected the phase wires to my motor.

If Kun Teng makes a controller that works for sensorless operation, I certainly haven't heard of it.

EDIT:

Okay I googled it, and they exist. Still I haven't seen one yet.

The 25A KT sensorless square wave controller is a tough bird to find. PSWPower used to sell them, but no more.

The trouble with Aliexpress is that there are often half a dozen sellers offering the same thing, with the same pictures/words, and you wonder if they are all the same seller. Moreover, the ads may be full of mistakes. They show a controller with Hall connector and call it sensorless,or they mix sine wave and sensorless together, when there is no such thing,

I can find the T09P, which is a 22A KT sensorless controller. TopBikeKIt sells one, and since they really are an ebike parts vendor, I think you can trust their listing. Make sure you buy the T09P and not a T09S, which is sine wave,

Thanks for replying
Before i purchase, i wanted to clear some things.
Are you saying that its impossible for my motor to run sine wave controller? as a sinwave requires sensors? So whatever i order i must make sure its a square wave?
My last controller was described as a sinewave so i wonder how i worked and the ride was quite smooth. im confused haha

and another quick question-
If my battery current is 30A (48V 21AH), and my motor is 500W,
To reach its full potential of the motor- i need to get a 25A controller? or a 22A is the choice?

Thanks again!!!

This only applies to KT models. Never seen a KT sinewave advertised as sensorless. Don't know if there is a technical reason for that. The motor experts might know about that. Not me.

Is this what the K11 Krypton looks like ? If so, does it use a KT display?

thats the one, i dont have the original display so i installed the kt display..
Im clueless of what to do now

will this controller work with any 3-phase motor if stripped of all electronics? can be connected to 3 bare phase-wires?
