There was a thread about these bikes a while back as Kuberg were doing a campaign on Kickstarter to get funds together to product a teen/adult sized electric bike. Their whole bike range was discounted so I put an order in for the 2015 Trial E (kids) and the Free Rider (mine ). Next year they will have a proper Trials bike, TREX.

It was my lads birthday a couple of weeks ago and he was lucky enough to get his 2015 Trial E in time. There were some delays on the delivery because Kuberg were moving factories and they were not totally satisfied with the new electronics but their CEO sent me the bike with a 'demo' controller so he had the bike for his birthday and when the new controllers are 100% ready they will send it to me. I thought that was bloody impressive.

The bike itself is cheaper than the market leader Oset and the specs are fairly similar. The bike comes in trials style but you can buy a tail piece that includes the seat pad. The 2015 bikes come standard with hydraulic disc brakes, double spoked wheels and a new controller. Unlike the oset these bikes are rated to carry 220lbs! Once id assembled it late one night of course I could not resist a blast on it. I was blown away with how it pulled away as if I was like 5 stone and it was bloody fast (good think I can turn it down for the boy). The batteries in this one are 3 x 12v 12ah (36v) so the run time is decent on them but they use XT60 connectors so I could change to lipo later on easily enough. The rest of the bike is solid, well made, probably the only negative is that its a little stiff on the suspension.

I can totally see how it makes so much sense for a kid to be on a electric bike. More places to ride and I can launch it in the car without it stinking us out. Im still waiting for my Free Rider but I just know it will be a proper laugh.

There aren't so many dealers for these bikes in UK so im just finalising the stuff to become a Jr dealer. If anyone is interested, let me know. Ive just picked up one of those £99 GoPro's so I plan to make some vids of the bike this weekend unless its a washout.

Would be interested to see the specs on that one. Kuberg will be at Motorcycle Live in UK at the end of the month if anyone wants to see these in the flesh.

:)

Particularly enjoyed the half-time show... where the kids get to play with real (miniature) guns.
