Since I make no bones about my ignorance in matters electric, especially when it goes beyond the norm of simple gauge wiring or installing a light fixture or outlet, I requested help rather blindly through a PM to Liberator as he was fixing to install a new "watts up" meter.

He responded immediately. Upon completion of his install he emailed me several photos and went into great detail on the wiring and answered all of my questions with great patience. My questions got quite basic and he never wavered, never became impolite or acted like I was the simpleton I am.

So, to all who read this, BRAVO LIBERATOR. It's great to have a place like this to come to for help. I provide a lot of experience and knowledge on the boating forums I belong to but Liberator went well beyond the norm. I'm afraid I would have lost patience with me.

Aw shucks. Thanks for the kind words. It turns out we were both looking for a meter at the same time and I just happened to get it working without shocking myself or blowing anything up. :) That 3-wire connection got kinda confusing there for awhile.

Have fun with it! There's nothing like the EV grin as they say.

That's great Liberator. There needs to be more Internet denizens like you. I hope the favor is returned to you some day in kind. Kudos.

I figure we're all here because we love to learn and I've been the beneficiary of so much Internet knowledge I've been paid back hundreds of times over. Sometimes I wonder if I'd turn into an babbling idiot if I was away from Google or forums too long. Ya know, this world-wide knowledge transfer thing has done wonders for me in my career as well. People think I actually KNOW things. LOL. No, I'm just really good and picking the correct search terms and and vetting the resulting info. :)

Ah, remember bulletin boards, Gopher, Archie, and Veronica? The good old heady days of the proto-nerds. Boy, I just made myself feel old.

Boy, I wish I could see more of them around this area. I'm not in the best area for progressive transportation so I'm feeling plenty lonely these days surrounded by huge SUVs that have never seen an unpaved street and people too busy with their cell phones to pay attention to driving. Still, it's nice to see the virtual EV grins.
