lathe problem amadeal 7x14 ,,, Hunting ??

ok i know lots of you on here have lathes and hopping that some one can help me ..

i have one of these ,, but when running , the motor is hunting ,, any idea on what i need to do to stop it or repair it ??

To fix this fault turn the IR pot control on the speed control circuit board anticlockwise 1/8 of a turn at a time until the hunting is corrected. Make sure the power to the lathe is off when making the adjustments.

i dont even know what to look for ,, but i will take the cover off and have a look ,,
