Lifepo4 26650 capacity tester

Hello.

I would like to run capacity tests on ~500 A123 26650 cells before I blindly turn them into a pack.

I first purchased and ISDT Q6 charger to charge 4S packs and capacity test them, but it only checks capacity of the whole 12 V battery.

Next up I purchased a XTAR VC8 on hopes of that testing individual cells. No dice. It seems to only capacity test from 4.2v down.

Does anybody know of A charger to fit the bill? I can’t imagine I’m the only person wanting to test these very popular reclaimed cells.

i tested 200 of the a123 26650 with 2 of my opus. i had to buy 26650 individual holders 8 of them and then wire them to the opus. You have to open up the opus to flip a switch to the lifepo4 setting.

Its alot of extra work to get everything setup, but the opus worked great. it didn't take long to process all 200 cells (tested at 1 amp), the a123 cells charge and discharge faster then the 18650 cells do. If I had to test more a123, I would do it the same way with the opus.
If you already have some opus, its the way to go.

On my 200 cells i got anywhere from1400 to 2300 mah.

The opus looks great. Soldering in a few battery holders is minimal work compared to making a big battery.
