'lightest.bike' 1.7kg 1000w mid drive

If it's like the CYC X1s and Stealths a lot of the noise comes from gearbox and extra chain. Not sure much can be done about that. CYC sure can't solve that problem no matter how much they claim each new gen is "quieter".

I wish we got some communication on that here, thanks for passing it on.

I have not noticed any crank wobble yet, I have the isis splined crank.
I can ask if there is a more silent revision and if mine is one of them.

It makes noise, a bbshd is definitely quieter. But it doesn't irritate me like the cyc stealth did.

In about 20kmh (12,5mph) I hear only wind and at low support at lower speeds I can hear it, but I don't think it's annoying.
At slow speed up a steep climb it is definitely a present sound. But I'm fine with the pitch it makes.
It's louder than my girlfriends oem bike with a Dapu motor, but not much.

I might find a different crankset if this one fails.
As written earlier in this thread the bearings don't look like the strongest. My original sram bearing cups fits the mounting bracket.

When did you order and receive your kit anyway? i hear a lot of people got their ISIS cranks substituted for square taper and that's where things went wrong.

Looks like by early next week i will have my 22T freewheel and later in the week, the parts to build a battery mount for my recumbent. I wil lfashion a temporary battery mount for the purposes of testing the bikee lightest. Really looking forward to it!!

CYC Photon or Bikee Lightest?

….. YES

But you have to choose which mid drive…

Do I?

That’s right, both of these mid drives fit seamlessly together to create a 1500W 230+ Nm torque super drive.

Now, this is just a quick test fit, but I think this is actually going to work!
Weekly chain swaps?

Maybe if the shimano linkglide is really 3x more strong then the duration of replacement even on a high power mid drive could at least be reasonable.

Oversized gears would be helpful too.

There might be some solutions!

I like the idea of dual motor but i lean in the direction of having some weak geared front motor that has the clutch welded for regen on the front. Once you get to a certain power level, where you can climb massive hills, you start having problems ( brake heat ) going down them. Another 350-500w of regen braking that never fades would be nice.

Hub motors don't typically have strong casette/freewheel hubs so that kind of discludes using one in the rear.

I think you are about to have a very powerful climber, especially if you kick that photon up to 750w ( considering you'll be offloading it every once and a while, it should stay fairly cool at a lower 'duty cycle', and allow you to push beyond it's nominal rating. )

nervagon, looking at that pic, i like how one of the mid drives hides behind a big chainring shield, and only the tiny one is showing.

Always pass everyone to the left if possible for maximum stealth factor, hehe.

@Golo do you have photos? I'm still waiting for my 1000W motor, "contributed" May 2022. Ordered Isis cranks but not the BB
I'm glad your Isis bits worked out!

This is the only picture I have right now.

I have made the battery myself, and I'm not finished yet. I have ordered a small top tube bag I hope to be able to put it in. I will also try to route the cable for the display and trottle inside the frame
I just wanted to be able to ride it 😅

Damn i like how OEM that looks. You just need black straps. 😅

You've got that motor tucked in nice & tight! Battery location looks ideal weight wise, if you could come up with a way to attach it. Planning to mount mine in the same spot with 3M/Scotch Dual Lock & a couple Voile straps

Nice!

Can any other Bikee owners confirm a dangerous bug?

The throttle does not turn off when the display is shut down. The throttle is still live with the system shut down, and it still drives the motor!

I noticed a similar problem with the wheel sensor. The wheel sensor light remains on when the system is off, so this may be a problem with all accessories remaining live and still talking to the controller with display powered off.
With my -
motor controller fw rev. 072
display fw rev. 026
and trying combinations of support levels
0 and +1 .. at power off, everything turns off properly.

btw, I can't get the display fw to update -
it begins, but then the Bluetooth indicator on the display
turns off and resets with an error message in the App:

DFU Device Disconnected
Error type: 0
Error: 4096

Has anyone succeeded with this?
