Are <A HREF="https://www.kaidomain.com/WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=3069">these</A> anything worth getting a stiffie about?
- 32600 Li-ion cell (D cell size)

- 2C discharge rate
- 600+ cycle
Our Price : $15.5

They're the first D-size lithium ion that I've ever heard of to date.
Anyone know of any others?
Supposedly 7500 mah D's are to be coming available in 2 weeks time, estimated price approx. U$40 apiece, but that's just scurrilous internet rumour-mongering.

First I've seen of li-ion D's as well. They also advertise 2600mah "unprotected" li-ion (whatever that means...PTC instead of PCB?) 18650's for $3.60; and "protected" (PCB?) 18650s for a lot more.

No option for tabs; more expensive per watt-hour than 18650; and 5000mah at 2C is only 10 amps, so multiple parallel cells is still required. 600 claimed cycles is dubious -- li-ion and lipo is always about 300 cycles to 80% of original cell capacity. Inherent in the chemistry, I don't think cycle life can be improved upon much without fudging the numbers, such as rating to a lower capacity or storing at colder temperatures.

So nothing to get all tumescent about yet...
