I have a ZEV S 6000 electric scooter. All I want is a full twist throttle with lcd battery voltage and no key having cruise control would be a bonus. The scooter already has a key. The stock throttle is crap and has almost killed me more than once. And I doubt it can be adjusted by a different throttle but it would be nice if it had a soft start from stop than what it has currently. It really jerks from start.

There are several ways of improving throttle response.
You could upload pics of the throttle and controller, including any labels on these. Then we’ll see what you have.

If it’s a known controller then it might be possible to reprogram it.

If thottle is issue then you can replace it.

I looked at the controller, it has no information. But its just a typical 3 wire throttle

There are lots of throttles that should work with your controller. Most of them are pretty cheap and might need a little waterproofing to be good.

Sometimes if you have a large “dead band “ at the bottom of the throttle travel it will make the low end very sensitive and twitchy. This can often be improved by adding a resistor in series with the throttle black wire to minimize the dead band.

To get a real soft start you need to change something in the controller.

Do you have the same controller as in my pic? Could be worth it to get a programming cable for apt96600 from www.cnqsmotor.com and give it a try.

Program is uploaded here at the APT96600 thread.
It has some risk to try this if program does not match controller software.

Then i’d get the programming cable and try. Throttle response can be set freely on the APT96600 controller.

The only problem is I cannot find the cable, its an older controller so I need a 6 pin round cable

So I got a replacement throttle. And the controller is made by APT Shanghai according the guy at ZEV. But I cannot find a programming cable for the life of me. Its a small 1/4 maybe 3/8in round connector with 6 pins evenly space around the outside. Anyone have any idea? I can take a picture later
