Lithium battery options for electric racers/dragsters

You'se guys are too funny. Lotta talk...

Jeff

lotta talk?

When you get that beautiful Attack EV, a purpose built sportscar finished, and you wana get spanked by my non-sportscar utilitarian daily driver Honda Civic in any race of your choice, just say the word. ;)

The whole project is top-notch, and it looks like you're building the best fit-and-finish attack out there. I checked out the custom gear made for the tranny. Cool stuff! In high torque situations with that tranny, we pull out 5th gear, and use the needle bearings that the 5th gear set rides on to make a "dogbone" or "handcuff" for the tranny shafts. The reason is the cases flex a lot under high torque loads, and it lets the shafts get enough distance between them that the gears get loaded further out on the tips, which results in strange gear wear at the best case, and a shaved off load of teeth at the worst case. You've got loads of bare shaft to throw a handcuff in there, and it's a simple part to make if you want to improve tranny strength.

This is what they look like, very easy part to make for the added strength if provides:

And it's still just a lotta talk..

Another kid Ricer...

A tip to you kid; keep your replies brief. People might actually read them then.

You're so right. Only a fool would bother to read a solution to fixing a weakness in the tranny case you are using. :?

I call you out to race, and you call me the talker?

My car externally looks bone stock as Honda made it in 1992. Not a ricey part on it. Your building a 300lbs heavier batmobile with light up mirrors and half the power, and you figure you can call me a ricer??? May want to look up the term ;)

I will put 5 grand on it right now. 1/4mile. Your purpose built EV attack sportscar VS my daily driver Civic. You can feel free to use slicks and VHT and TC. I've got friends at tracks all around, so you can go, run as many as you want on tape, we just count your best pass.

If you're gona talk shit, you need to back it up, or you need to keep a shit filter on your mouth in the future.

Geesh just cause a guy has a Honda hatchcrap he's a kid ricer.. reminds me of the stuff in that bike snobbery thread. Jeff, you work at an LBS? :)

Just a note from the ol' guy on the sideline...

Luke is not a ricer, Luke is not blowing smoke... he is wise beyond his years... he understands the ICE better than most in the Detroit design labs... he has done the "things" he writes about. End of story. My $'s on liveforphysics.

A wise man knows when he can learn from others and not have to pay the "price" of knowledge. As my Father taught me: "Moose, it is going to cost you to learn. Skin, time or money. Pick your payment, knowledge and wisdom have a price." Dad had to learn it all on his own, I learned to "learn from others..." and then expand upon that baseline.

Best wishes,
Dave

Very well said bigmoose i couldnt agree more. I have seen video of Lukes Civic, it don't go like any Civic i have ever seen, Launches harder than most big blocks i have seen, my money would also be on Luke no hesitation...

I LOVED your fathers lesson to moose i have saved that in my list of sayings to 're-use' when the time arises...My father was much the same, very DIY type but went to the library to take out books when he needed to find out how things worked, no internet for him back then, we have it extremely easy these days as far as finding the knowledge needed everything is at our fingers tips....

Yes, that's a great advantage... Two years ago I had no idea of EV technology and now my 400-500hp electric car is almost done. This would never be possible without the internet and communities like this

And you ricer kid, were not invited  but you came along anyway, just to beat your chest in front of us.

The whole concept of a PUBLIC forum seems to elude you Jeff...the idea
is for ALL members to contribute not only the ones you think should. :?

i agree with AussieJester . Read the header : ENDLESS SPHERE TECHNOLOGY FORUM - it doesent say : discussion not allowed
