Decent article, although some of the numbers seem odd. I wish they referenced this forum instead of the other one, which seems to be geared toward gas powered.

FTA: "A common battery can last 40 miles at high speeds before it needs to be recharged."
Please God let me get 40 miles at WOT!! I'd kill for that.

of course the best part of any ebike related news on the web is the comments!

Forty years ago the Communist Chinese were all on bikes. Then they embraced capitalism. Forty years later we're heading for socialism, and now WERE the ones on bikes.
And I thought Liberals were "progressives". Next up: power supplies, heating and cooling homes. Libs love to spread the misery.

I love the wild leap this man makes to get from the news article to the "liberal agenda". yes, we're pedaling our way to socialism

Lessee, E-VIL oil and Coal-fired bicycles!!! LOL, kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

I mean small rich-running gasoline engines with ZERO pollution control and electricity doesn't come from the "electric fairy", gotta be killin' off those polar bears!!

Then being in an enclosed office with folks that just peddled 5 miles to work at 98 degrees, GOTTA be a treat!!!

Yep, eco-terrorism, makin' da whirl a clearner, better place!!!!

Is there a handbook they pass out, or does this guy just post everywhere?

These are also great for those addicted to meth. They all love to tinker with junk. So what better way can the spend there hard earned money from selling stolen copper. This actually would be a great franchise recycling copper, cans etc. Selling gas powered bikes plus some candy for there nutritional needs. Now this is hope and change to turn this country around !

...I can't argue with most of that after living on whidbey island, wa

Man, those comments are particularly vile. Nearly as bad as New Mexico politics.

Unfortunately, the reporter only knows ebike retailer spew. sure, a 200wh battery goes 40 miles.

Ride slow and you can get 40 miles out of 800wh. But 30 mph will take more wh to go 40 miles, that's for sure.

Nearly 160,000 premade ebikes sold in the last two years? Wow, amazing we don't get more noob posts asking why my battery doesn't work. Guess they will come in another year or so. Why doesn't my battery charge after it sat in the garage for two years?
