I know it's a bit pricey, but I wonder what they would charge for one without a motor? If nothing else, it should give us some great ideas for a similar Ebike! http://www.fxbikes.com/

Wow. At ~100 pounds, thats almost 50 pounds lighter than an 85cc motoXer bike.

I wonder if a CRF150R motor would fit in there.

Want one, want one, want one, pleeease!!!

This is the bike I've been looking for for ages. Someone tell Jay to stop messing about with pocket bikes and get over here... :D

A diy'er could probably get pretty close to the chromo version of the fx chassis building a one off in the garage.

Some of the tricked out Honda CRF50 minis with the long travel suspension are not too far off from the performance of those FX bikes. Of course by the time you add up all the costs of the after market frame, motor, suspension, bits, etc, the price is the same as the fx anyway.

Nice. :)

$6,225 though... :(

Would make a great platform for an electric bike. (but they already have those don't they?)

yeah i agree, great platform for an ebike, however it would take a bit to get it road legal though.- lights at least!

There still isn't a HEAP of room for batteries.

Where are the pedals?

ooh

Thats sweet, wait till deecannio sees this! ha ha he will want one for sure!!
Its asking for some A123 batteries and an Etek!

ooh yes

That special build thread is well worth reading, seriously worth checking out and the video is awesome!! that is so cool, it does borrow heavily from the denali but still check the video! it would be pretty poky with an Etek and some A123, not sure if it would lift the front wheel quite like this thing does though, check the video out, its really neat.

Like buses, aren't they? You wait around for ages for the right one to come along, and then two of them arrive at once. But I suppose that's a poorly chosen analogy here, cos who gets a bus when you have an electric bike (or in your case knoxie a stable full of electric bikes) :D

Yes, it's really good to see crossover bikes like these. It shows we're not the only ones who think you can have a lot of fun with a machine that does less than a ton. Who's going to be first to convert one?

This doesn't seem that much different from the electric moto Blade. The Fx uses lots of high end mountain bike components and so does the Blade. Of course the blade comes pre-fitted with Etek or Perm. You can see the 05 version here:

awesome bike!!!!
hehehe, you know me well knoxie :) i want one!!!
well i say i do but...... its not for me because i wouldn't be able to ride it anywhere :(
has to be electric, has to be a bicycle :)
i still think that a top end freeride with a custom seat is the way to go !!! ;)
if only i could get those guys to do a little work for me :) very talented, excellent project!!

cheers

Hey group,

I've been in e-mail touch with Mike Hodgkinson of FX Bikes, and they are VERY much interested in our input as how to electrify this bike. As I'm not the expert here, I defer to my tech superiors to help in this noble pursuit. Let's maybe start a new post - How Would You Electrify The FX? and take it from there. It's all yours :!:
