Looking for a Tranzx m07 mid drive motor 2017 or later

Hi folks,

I had a 2016 Tranz-X m07 whose torque sensors died and the bike is out of warranty. Izip is offering me a new updated motor at cost ($550) but I'm not super excited about paying that amount either. So I'm looking to find a used or new motor on the open market. Anyone know where I can find one of the updated units without the defect? It would be going into an otherwise fine 2016 Izip E3 Dash bike.

Welcome to the benefits of using a highly proprietary, non-interchangeable system. I say either write it off, or pay the $550 (and then do it again later).

Blarg, that isn't what I wanted to hear. I guess I shouldn't expect great reliability out of the new one I get?

It might be fine; I don’t know. Maybe they want to build a reputation on reliability as much as they do on appearance and checklist features. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
