looking for an electric bicycle.. what should i get?

I am looking for an electric bike mainly for traveling to work and local market..
I want something which can cover 30 miles or over.... Speed should be 30mph or over..

Charging 3 to 6 hours is acceptable

I already have a mountain bike so I will also consider kits to beef up my current bike..
Price? Value for money

Flat terrain? or hills? You can get a pretty satisfying set-up for around $2,000. The lower your budget, the more you will have to whittle away at your most desired features. At $1,000...it will be tough. Do you already have a bike that you want to put a kit on?

Pedaling with the motor can double the range of the battery, if you ride like a scooter (very little pedaling) then a 30-mile battery will be pricey.

30mph is going to take ~42wh per mile, so 42*30= 1260wh for a 30mile range at 30mph, so that's going to be a big battery pack and isn't going to be cheap. A motor kit can be had for ~$260. The cheapest battery pack is going to cost at least $600. You need to consider riding slower for more range. At 20mph, you cut wh usage in half. And that would cut your battery pack cost in half. You can still have the 30mph potential, just don't ride at that speed for 30 mile rides.

Welcome to the forum.
Unless you plan to build your own high performance Ebike, typical ebike performance is 10-20 miles range, and 20mph speed. In fact, in most places, 20mph is the legal limit.

For 30mph+ speeds and over 30 miles range, you should consider something like this:

A small moped or scooter will better fit your needs than an Ebike.

The faster you go, the more power it takes. It takes around 350 watts to go 20mph. It takes nearly 1000 watts to go 30mph. If you want to go 30mph for 30 miles, that's going to take a very big battery. more than most people would want to try to fit to a bike.

If you have a 29er then a MAC10T on 48V Lipo (14S) will do 30mph. Your range depends on how much you want to spend on batteries. 20Ah of batteries will make the distance and a bit to spare if it's hilly. 15Ah is fine if it's all flat terrain.

Better to cruise closer to 25 mph when you need the full thirty miles. A 48v 20 ah pack would then be big enough, provided you didn't have a gnarly headwind all the way.

But nothing wrong with 30 mph cruise when you need a few less miles. If you are planning a 30 mile one way commute, it will be a long time to do it, unless your route has no stop signs at all. 60 miles a day on a bike is asking a lot of your ass. But if you are used to three hours a day in the saddle, then you know.

30 miles a day round trip is not bad at all, I did it for several years, and many days wished the ride was just a bit longer. By charging at work, a 48v 15 ah pack was plenty, even if I rode 30 mph.

OK range has to be 30m even 20m is acceptable...

I am OK with 20mph/hr..... It will be hilly and flat area.

The furthest I travel often is about 10miles away and return journey is 10miles as well..

I prefer something which I can pedal to increase range and speed!

I already have a bike but its Chinese so no brand whatsoever. I know a little about bikes and know a bit about electronics so I could diy myself if its easy and instructions exist...

I think pedal assist are more for me but I don't know if something exists for me?
