Hello!

I've search the net whithout success. I'm searching for a pulley on the motor shaft on a Fiik looking electric skateboard. I wantto gear down from the now 16 teeth to lowest possible. The motor shaft is of a "D-type" and 6 to 10 mm diameter, probably 8 mm. It's the common HTD-5 belt. See picture from my e-board.

I'm note sure yet

If I can get a 12t pulley I get a 4 koggs shorter belt. But othervise I make the mounting holes oval or have to find something out.

Measuered yesterday; the shaft is 10 mm diameter and the belt is 15 mm wide.

Just a heads up, its not as simple as using a belt with 4 less teeth if you have 4 less teeth on the cog. The best solution I have found is to use the center length distance calculator on sdp-si to see what combinations will work best.

Also why would you want to put in a smaller drive cog? You are going make your board slower. Are you trying to climb hills?

Good point. I didn't know that back then. Also there probably isn't a HTD-5 belt with 4 less teeth. I'm not particular keen on make the holes oval either, don't think it will hold/work.

But im thinking about an idler pulley to take up the slack. The idea is to route the belt above the lower of the two screw attachements (viasable in the picture) with bearings around the attachement. This may require a longer belt even if the cog is smaller. Pulley.jpg
Have to measure with a rope togater with sdp-si, to get it right/see if it is possible.

Yes, back then I wanted better climbing abillitys and could sacriface some top speed. I imagined the motor spinning faster with less load not affecting the speed much. But since I swithed to FWD the board climbes much better and the need is not that big anymore.
