A friend of mine has a 200w Chinese electric scooter that seemed to have locked up, upon further inspection (pulled it to bits) we noticed that some of the magnets had come off!! Can we glue these back on? and if so what would be the best adhesive to use? Even with the magnets off the motor tried to turn (pre autopsy).

Thanks in advance,
Gow.

The magnet orientation is real important, so make sure to keep em in order, and facing the same way. If they are already mixed up, use another magnet to get em oriented so they alternate in pairs, pushing and pulling on the magnet in your hand.

I've had good luck with both epoxy and polyurethane glue. Polyurethane is a bit more flexible when cured. Both give you a little time to tweak the position of the magnets before they set.

Loctite 380 is great stuff, but you better set the magnets exactly where they need to go quick, as the stuff grabs quickly. It's kinda messy too. Don't get it on your hands.
