Lowell's X503 hub motor and wheel info

What charger are you using?
I'd like to know how you handle the oddball voltages everytime you bump the cell count.

I'm using the standard Nexcell 4 amp chargers, one 24v and two 36v. The 24v pack is minus one cell, and the 36v packs are minus one and two cells. The charge graphs with the different cell counts look normal and the only thing I have noticed is it takes a bit longer for the charger to kick into 4A mode if the pack is deeply discharged.

The charger puts in 0.5A until it sees a certain voltage per cell

Hi Lowell, If you ever upgrade those 2D's to lithium, I would buy the NiMH's from you! - Do you ever ride by the beaches, Jerico etc, UBC area. I had a life guard tell me to get of the trail and my bike is pretty stealthy, it was a bummer.

I've ridden around UBC, but only on the roads. The only time I've taken the bike to the beach was at the VEVA show.

Are ebikes not allowed on the trails?

25s booster pack to start with, and then if I like the cells, I'll keep adding more. Also, I might bump things up to 35s if I do the 5304/20" wheel setup on the new bike.

Any difference between your 503 and 5304?

Apparantly there is a sign that says "No motor vehicles" allowed and that is what he was going by. So rather than argue with him, I just rode up to the street. I never exceed 15kph on trails that people are walking on and yield to pedestrians. So again that was dissapointing. So now I have bigger panniers! I hope to see your machine someday, maybe we will meet in passing. I have not ridden the 5 series motors, I bet the power is addictive. I probably am better off staying away from the big motor!

Take care!
