ALCON,
I have been a longtime reader of this forum and because of this forum I went out and bought a Radon Sunset Via GT (German Trekking bike) and put on a BBS02 36V 500w crank drive and a 36V 13ah Kettle battery from CNE Bikes for about $826 Shipped to the Netherlands. They included the Hydraulic brake cutoff along with the mechanical brake handle so I may make the cutoff switch for shifting. CNE Bikes have been great answering all of my questions (It took me about 6 months to change from my previous Currie Electro-drive kit on a old DM mountainbike). I have assembled the bike and after put on about 200 miles onto the drive is is working great. With My size( Athletic 6'4" 220lbs) I am able to maintain about 20-21mph without sweating and 26mph working hard in southern Netherlands/western Germany. I get about 25-30miles at those speeds. Great Setup!!! :D
While I love the drive and have had no issues yet, I do notice that some of you have opened it up and have re-lubricated/greased the moving parts to have the drive run as long as possible. This is probably newbie questions but what is the intervals for opening the drive up and re-lubricate/grease the moving parts? What is the grease that you reccomend? I live in the EU right now so if I can get types or brands that may be here and also in the US as I do not live here permanently and will relocate back to the US in the next couple of years. Any other maintanence advice would also be appreciated for the long life of a great kit/Bicycle

update,
I received this from Teslanv today
"My drive developed a clicking noise after about 450 miles of use, so I ended up taking it apart to trouble-shoot it. The problem ended up being a mangled O-Ring on the Journal bearing, which was easily repaired. However in my disassembly, I ended up cleaning off much of the grease in the gears.

I thoroughly regreased everything when I reassembled it, and it has been very quiet ever since. (About 700+ miles since the repair)

I used the following grease products:

For the Nylon Helical gearing, I used Sil-glyde.
http://www.amazon.com/American-Grease-Stick-Sil-Glyde-Compound/dp/B000KXJLXY/ref=pd_sbs_auto_7?ie=UTF8&refRID=13VN1DTJCJMGE8D6F2CY

For the Shaft roller bearings I used Slick Honey:

For the Final Gearset (large Sprocket at the Crank) I used standard Moly Grease:

http://www.amazon.com/Valvoline-VV632-Fortified-Multi-Purpose-Vehicles/dp/B000GAD07O/ref=sr_1_cc_3?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1412793735&sr=1-3-catcorr&keywords=Moly+grease

I would say that you may want to consider a "regrease" after 1000 miles or perhaps sooner if you notice any strange sounds. I would also say that the factory applied the grease somewhat sparingly.

For resealing the controller wire penetrations for water intrusion, I would recommend 3M - "5200" sealant. I use it on boats and it is incredible stuff."
hopefully this helps anyone who wants to upkeep their bbs02
