M365 Upgrade motor and controller

Good morning. Allow me to lay out the current conditions for my scooter. It was a stock M365 but in my mindset of never leaving well enough alone, I changed the 350w motor to a 500w unit. Works, but has been sluggish. The controller is now 'upgraded' to what shows in the Home app as v5.0 and using the Home app I've done a 'restore factory settings' and that appears to have made a big change but I'd like to have just a bit more power to get up my driveway. I saw a 500w controller in the stock hardware format only once, but I can no longer find the thing. I suspect it was just the v3.0. Here's what I'd like to find out:
Can I download the firmware to see what the settings are?
Is there a way to modify/patch the v5.0 firmware to increase the motor power? (I see the Custom Firmware Toolkit but the versions don't match, and I have no problem using the the ST-Link flashing method.
The v3.0 controller appears to be the beefier controller, and I don't mind picking up one of those. I'll pull my current controller and check for the better PCB traces.
Gimme a goal for some extra power with my 500w motor and controller mods.

Just changing the motor wouldn't be enough to give it more power. That just means that the motor is rated to handle more power without melting. The controller determines how much power is delivered to the motor. A controller rated for higher current for given battery voltage is needed. You also require a battery capable of delivering the current the controller needs.

Understood. The battery is capable of providing a bit more power at the expense of longevity and is not a problem. The 500w motor does seem to give some extra seat-of-the-pants power and I need to remove the controller to inspect for some tell-tale updates, multiple fuses and heavier PCB traces to see exactly what I have. The main issue is the firmware, v5.0, and whether I can downgrade or make changes. I was looking for some definitive answers about the v5 firmware but I have no problem giving it a try, apparently I can un-brick it with the ST LInk and if that happens then it narrows my options to a new controller capable of handling what I'd like to do.
