Hello,

I installed for the first new brake pads on my tektro caliper, I noticed that there isn't enough space to insert an hex key to the inner pad hex screw because it's too close to the hub motor, do you know where I can get the blue key from the video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OFJE2jIDAU&feature=youtu.be&t=159
access to a 3D printer is not an issue if you know of an available model.. I don't even know the name of this thin key so I couldn't find anything

When adjusting the caliper with a spacer, the inner pad touches the disc, unless I barely hold the brake handle while tightening the bolts, but then the braking isn't smooth at all

Thanks in advance :bigthumb:

Can you cut down the hex key so that you have room to insert it? I run into similar problems myself.
I don't have any tool to shorten it, it's a pretty thick key, btw check my post again I added the video I mentioned

I have used a hack saw to shorten hex keys. Its tough on the really good hex keys, but easy on the cheaper ones.

lol I also have a 1$(or something) low quality allen set from aliexpress I maybe I actually have this saw..but the caliper screw is very close to the motor so I'm not sure it's even possible without the blue plastic one because the hex thing sticks out of the key, I'll have to check :thumb:

btw also found this:

managed to saw it after checking how buttery this metal is with different pliers. now it barely fits into the inner pad screw, but it works :thumb: I can still shorten it by filing

I was also thinking you could mould one out of some kind of epoxy while the brake is off the bike but you got it covered 👍

It's a bit hard to use because it barely fits, I think I got a better solution, the key fits perfectly into an ikea clip after cutting it a little bit:

You can make it as thin as you need because it's not bent, I just need to fix it to the clip, it can't turn around but it can be pulled out if I won't glue it or something

I used mill and rotary table to machine 19mm (or 3/4") flats, but a hand file and a little bit of patience would work too, I think.
