I am new to Endless-Sphere and don't know if I am in the right place, but I would appreciate any help including where I should post this. I own a Mobiky Genius and would like to convert it to an ebike. Can anyone please offer me any advice on powering a Mobiky. Thank you.

Wow, I looked at a video of that bike. It looks like 12 inch wheels maybe. Not sure if you could lace one of the new mini hub motors in the front and maybe carry the battery in a backpack. Anything you add to the frame might make it tougher to fold/carry. There are others on here that have converted folders using RC motors. Might go to advanced search in the upper right and put in Dahon folder or rc drive. Or maybe someone will chime in.http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12267&p=182694&hilit=Dahon+rc+drive#p182694 Here is one.

Thanks. I was thinking about a 12" wheel hub motor since the fold is pretty compact on the Mobiky and I would like to keep both the stealth as well as the 3 second fold. Mobiky announced their first entry into the ebike field at a price point of close to $4000us. It looks like the same bike as mine which could have been bought 2 or 3 years ago from between $699 to $999. Hopefully, one of you will be able to help. Thanks again.

Nice Bike.

I looked around and came up with Nothing, but then had an Idea.

Cute (BMSbattery.com) makes a 350W geared hub motor with a 108mm height. there smallest is ment for a 16" wheel, but running a 24V version of that motor at 36volts laced into a 12" wheel might be a workable solution.
the problem is the dropout spread. the Cute is a 100mm wide motor, and you likely have a 70mm front hub width. a New fork might be needed.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I was really hoping that someone might have a hub motor already built into a 12" wheel. My current front fork is aluminum and I would have to replace it with a steel fork. I have no idea where to look.

Could anyone tell me where I could get a mini hub motor laced into a 12" wheel? The Mobiky also has a front disc brake. I seem to be going around in circles and getting nowhere. Thanks.

I don't know how to post pics but this link should help. Thanks.
