I payed John K from stealth/emtb.com 42.85 for a new axle with shipping.
Hopefully I get it in the next couple days.
Ill either buy or make a hydrolic press and swap over the axles.

tough call, the price of axle and press inches towards a new hub... at least you'll ending up knowing how to replace them in future touch wood.

I find every time I replace something I have to wonder whether its worth just starting a new build, amount of spare parts I've got are accumulating.

hopefully it arrives quickly for you

was thinking of you finger

Hx35xx axle from John K.JPG
I got the axle in the post form John K - emtb/stealth
it's shorter than the old one (drop out shoulder same width) and seems like it may be made from a different metal composite because its super shiny. also the wire channel seems much more neater and maby deeper than my old one. i sent him an email to find out if its significantly different.

I bought some 50x50x3 mm square steel tube to make my hydrolic press frame. the press is a 2 tonne Nissan hydrolic jack.
it was $40, bit of a rip off but i guess raw matirial costs are increasing. it is painted black though, woop de doo, lets add $10 .

just get new motor already.

Yes, a 4065 aka 4032.5 is in order. Time to upgrade. To boot, those H35 and H40 use the same axle so I am told, if thats the case, you got a spare axel.

Any vehicle workshop should have a 10tonne press.

I took mine to the local garage and slipped him £10. Only took him 10 minutes.

Looks to be the same design axle as the HS I replaced. The design is terrible as the wiring channel has been milled to far along. The section I have highlighted should be solid steel as that is the section which sits in the dropouts, it shouldn't be missing half the material!

Agreed.
Yeah guys this hobby is worth throwing money at but I still stand by my 35xx motor because for commuter duties its good and jumps its light , with ca v3 thermal power ramp down and throttle ramp up calibrated correctlyiI should not have any issues.
I've been playing on my Honda z50 but the chainring nuts fell off. Bad luck x 3 all done now I hope.

The guy rang me and needs new key steel cos the old bit is stuck in the axle and he can't get it out cos there's only a couple mm hanging out.. Lame
Found a supplyer CBC bearings on the way home so I can do it all in one trip and the engineer might be there when I get there to put in the new axle.
I am missing the monster.

He put the axle in the wrong way, and broke the new axle.
Annoying. But he will do it again for free now with a new axle.
I'm surprised he didn't think about having to flip the stator to install the new axle.
Pressing the axle end instead of the shoulder the axle sits on made it snap where the wire channel goes into the threaded section. John K didn't say much about it other than his machine might have had some movement in it to let it slip out of place or something.
I was so pissed off when I got home so I smashed the bag for a bit and now I'm OK. Still annoying.

well I'm waiting for an invoice unless theres an axle on my way for free (doubtful).

what can i do?
i think this is the best option. purely cos its the cheapest. maby i should pay more and get a new axle and go somehere else or buy a new motor.

I at least need to get the monster back to gether and show off the new bacl wheel in anycase seeing as i painted the hub gloss black ,black spokes (silver nipples) and alex dx boxy rim, and dual disc brakes.

little update...
i received the 2nd new axle from John K and left it and the ht3525 stator with the enginear that broke the first one. hopefully he will get it right this time.

just a semi of topic little story. got a multi copter from hobby king for my little cousin. thought id have a play with it and make sure it all works. well its not imposible to fly but man it's not easy. 2 x dual axis sticks.. go brain go ! haha good luck to him he's about 12 i think. 1 thing i remember about being a kid is ppl underestimated me so hopefully this will push his limits. only$40 hey if he breaks it, oh well.

Yah, 12 year old kids will learn that stuff much faster and better than adults. Proof in my point, go learn how to play any video game of your choice, when you think you are really good, find a 12 year old and challenge him, then when he beats your ass, you won't think you are so good. Happened to me with my friends son about 13 years ago when the Xbox was considered new shit and Halo was the game.

That's awesome, wished my Uncles were cool like that.

Good luck on getting your motor fixed, I know I tend to prefer the less-waste option by repairing something if I can help it.

Lol.
Deffx. Haha thank man.
That's a solid frock my life .
I got a get the Scott going.
It will be interesting to see how the engineer and john k help me. The engineer said next time I break an axle he can swap it quick and easy with his lathed up sleeves for his big press.
So I'm hoping John K will send me an axle that WILL work and a prepaid return envelope
Then I'll pay the engineer $10 or so to swap the axles and send off the h40xx axle.

If John k has no actual hx35xx axles...
Many a discount on a h4065..?
Who knows
