Get the press and you shouldve bought 10 axles so you can jumping at the park without any waiting around when you do another axle in.

Make your own mate! Bottle jack and a bit of framework and you're in business. Repco had a 2 tonne one on special a week or 2 back for $20.pendragon8000 said:I'm considering buying a press for the axles. They are available for $180 on special.

Top one is for Chopbusta's BMX
Bottom one is for my monster. The axle is 19mm rather than standard 12mm.
I'llsort out the pPayPal invoice today and hopefully have this bike back on the road in a week or so.

Its got 4mm keyway steel. Tench has it loaded ready to go. Its pretty standard in heavy duty electric motors to use a key way only, however this has allot of torque compared to a high rpm motor.Rix said:pendragon8000 said:Check out these beauties from Tench.

What ever you paid for those axles from Tench was worth it. Can you take a close up once the stators is mounted? I want to see how the stator attaches with out the splines. You mentioned some kind of allen screw, really want to see it though.

Thanks, yeah lucky I haven't got a glass jaw or it would have been nap time.Hyena said:Ouch dude, sorry to hear about your stack. Good thing you broke the fall with your face![]()
No video I take it ?
Re: the BMX, 110 to 135 is a fair stretch even for steel. Are you planning to run disc brakes on it ? If not and only a single speed freewheel you could machine the axle shoulder down a little for less stretch. Maybe down to 125mm ?
I'm glad i could help. im keen to see your video but its not working. thought it was my phone but doesnt work on pc either.Rix said:Hey Ken, a while back you Pm'd about getting a go pro and shooting some video. Here is my first video riding up in the foot hills above Boise. This isn't the rock shit I ride here in Nevada. Thats coming. Anyway, the PMs you sent me awhile back got me off my ass to get a go pro.

I broke my first clutch (well at least while it was in the motor), it made a loud crack when I was riding up stairs and started slipping badly about a week later. Luckily I had a spare.
I managed to break my Topeak rear rack too, luckily nothing was on it at the time, but I don't really trust aluminium seat post racks anymore.
I'd ride up stairs too if I was being chased by a T-1000pendragon8000 said:yeah riding up stairs is fun, but i've learned its a bit of a no-no because stuff breaks. large diameter motor cycle tyres would be fine i guess. EG:
I'mwaiting for money to transfer to my PayPal account so I can get some parts from chain reaction cycles; chain ring, chain, 104mm spider.Rix said:Nicely done with the brake. I like it, whats next?
