motor cuts out , controller gets hot .

Thanks , I have this download . Does the P1 find the correct setting itself when adjusting it , and how do I know when its right ?
Are there any indications im supposed to get from the LCD 3 display to tell me the settings im searching for are set ? Something to let me know its found it like (eg;) tuning a tv channel in ,,,,!

UPDATE ON THE CONTROLLER ,, I sent an email off to the company in china last night about the different controller I received along with a photo . I ve since heard back from them saying that a new 350w 22A has been is being posted FOC along with an apology for sending the wrong one , this makes me happy and restores my faith as now the overheating/rough running problem "I hope" has disappeared .

Hi all
Hoping for some help, I've got a similar problem in that my motor is running rough. I have a KT-lcd3 display, a 48v 35a KT controller and a DD motor all from Hallomotor. At no load- and up to about 10kph all is well with the familiar tic tic of the phases. After about 14-20kph ( no load) it changes sound, bogged down and the watts go up.
I've tested all the phases and halls they're all good.
I've tested all phase/hall combos and the three forward options are all the same.
Which leads me to think it's a setting problem.
Being a DD I assume P1 is just the number of magnets ( which I don't know definitely ) so I've tried most numbers around the 40 mark.
I've tried playing with C1 &C2 parameters but I don't know enough about them to be sure.
I've got the manual but it's a bit hard to really know what it means.
Help! It's be a very frustrating day

Well I took the plunge and restored 'factory default settings '. Wasn't really that keen but I'd tried everything I could think of....so whatever it did it works perfectly. Quiet as a sine wave controller should be. Funny thing is it didn't clear a lot of my P&C parameters that I'd put in.
So I'm pretty happy bc i was beginning think something was dead.
