I was stripping my motor to replace the bearings and noticed that the outer laminations are peeling away.
Can I just glue them back in place?
I assume this is from when water got trapped inside and couldn't escape. I've drilled a small vent hole in the casing so any moisture can steam off when the motor is warm. it has been much drier since then.

It looks like corrosion got behind it and then it got caught when extracting the motor from the magnet ring and bent back. If you can glue them down it may stop them vibrating and chaffing the winding insulation?

On closer inspection the lamination that is peeling away is actually the insulator between the iron and the copper, I've degreased and will attept to glue it back in place.

Ah, well nothing to worry about, then, but a little glue to tidy things up would do no harm :)
