I installed my Cycle Analyst to my Crystalyte CT4840 V2 controller per the instructions on the Version 2 Crystalyte Controller information topic. I interpreted that thread as follows:
Red To the outer pole of the switch that connects to "L" for Battery +
Black Minus leg of C1 to pickup Battery -
White Shunt North (End closest to the MOSFETS)
Blue Shunt South (End away from the MOSFETS)
Yellow HM pad
Green XS+ pad
I turned on the controller switch and the CA lit up and all was well until it came off the splash screen then the bike took off. Major crash in the workshop and the driven front wheel threw a big adjustable wrench into my bare big toe. I turned off the switch and examined the big bruise then put the bike on the centerstand to get the front wheel off the ground and turned it on again. Same deal but less drama. The Phoenix Racer 5303 spun up to 25 MPH on my Cateye spedo. When I pulled the rear brake the motor stopped and the CA indicated regen. I cycled power again and put the CA into setup mode and the wheel didn't spin until I went out of Setup then it took off again. It indicates watts or, after I changed the setting, amps, and the totals spin up but no speed is displayed. I just got the CA from oatnet and it looks to be brand new - I think it still has factory default settings. I will document what they are in another post shortly but meanwhile a few questions:
Does the wiring above look right? Any obvious screwups?
Could it be a setting? That it seems fine until the CA comes out of the splash screen or when it is in setup seems interesting. Any ideas on something to reset?
What is the nominal shunt resistance for this controller? I think I saw it out there somewhere but I want to get the settings off the CA first.
I checked the settings on the CA and they are as follows (note that it did the same thing before and after I made changes noted below):
Set Units: MI (changed from km)
Wheel 2070 (changed from 2075)
Speed Limit 99 MPH
Amp Limit 040A
Low Volt Limit 19V
Main Display Watts
Set Range Low (.01A)
Averaging 5
Set RShunt 1.000 mOHM
Zero Amps I held the button until it said OK
Volt Sense 21.06
# Poles 8
PS Gain 0.08 V/MPH
INT SGAIN 200
PA GAIN 0.05 V/A
INT GAIN 300
PV GAIN 0.38 V/V
I TERM MIN 0.49V (I changed to 0.00 with no effect)
MAX THROTTLE 4.98 V
Set Ratio 0.1043 LG/HG
I verified it's the CA - If I pull the CA connector it does not run until the throttle is pulled. Note: There is NO MPH displayed on the CA.
