My eBike, a Seagull/Forca stops working when it's raining. After about 5 minuter in rain the power starts turning on and of to the wheel and after another minute the motor gets no power at all. I suspect that there is water in the battery connectors BUT the light are still working properly so i assume there is some moisture meter that stops the battery from giving power to the motor.

I've tried two ways of waterproofing the battery but none have worked.

Can anyone give me any hints what to do?

Are there any guides how to water prof the battery?

are there moisture meter on chinese ebikes?

you may have water getting into the throttle or maybe even into the controller. if it has a 5 pin plug for the hall sensors you could check that to see if it is not sealed. or the moisture could be leaking onto the BMS but usually they are sealed with shellac but the sense wires could be shorting through the moisture.

Yep, it could just be a wet throttle. In a heavy rain, ride with your palm covering as much of the crack between the throttle and the throttle body as you can.

Look into water getting into plugs. VERY likely the problem is in the 5v connections, halls wires to the motor, or the plug to thottles or ebrakes. Look at whether a battery plug near the rear wheel gets wet too. I assume you have a drop in the battery plug there, which may need a tweak to tighten the fit. Mabye water drips into there?

There's more than just the battery that is electrical and can get wet. Start with the throttle but also look at all electrical connectors you can get- pull them apart looking for any moisture, use a water repellent spray on the contacts. Even if it is not the cause of this particular problem it won't do any harm and may help ward off any problems that may have been in the pipeline.
