My first e - creation

Yeah JB Weld is awesome stuff theres more of that on my jeep then duct tape, sadly the bike had no crank to begin with as the frame was free for this reason, im getting a guy i met to weld a pipe to the bottom for foot pegs(actually a second handle bar i have lying around) im also gunna fab a foot leaver to use for breaking as i want to use a rear internal gear hub with a drum break, yeah it is pretty ghetto for now but it will be nice in the end i hope.

EDIT: Also so safe in "uber" terms if i go with a lower amp controller for my 20 amp motor say 15 or 20 amp controller instead of the 25 i got how will that effect my run time? will i get longer rides? can i simply modify the controller i have by removing one of the shunts? or is there more to it then that. The battery pack i have right now i bought used for 15 dollars (all 3 batteries for $5 each) and it was well beaten before i got a hold of them so im not to concerned with the life time of this pack, i was going to upgrade to something like a 36 Volt 20Amp Hr NiMH pack and would prefer to stay at 36 Volts, the only thing i want to use this for is showing off and getting stuff from the store, i walk to work as its only 2 blocks and i need the exercise

I stripped the threads on the scooter sprocket and will haft to fix it befor i can ride it again, Heres the pictures of the drive system i promised

LoL... count yourself lucky i guess, I hit two lampost on a Yamaha 350 doing 70km/hr ... broke my back in two places my pelvis in 16 shattered a knee, broke an arm left hospital in a wheelchair after 11 months :-|

Always think saftey ;)

OUCH! damn man. you did recover? i hope or r u still in a wheel chair? when i was 9 i tried to jump 3 dumpsters end to end the long way on a yamaha 125 and got lucky i bruised my hip and riped the muscle. needless to say i have not tried it again

UPDATE: iv fixed my back gear by sliding it over the stripped threads and wraping about 12 feet of duct tape onto it

LoL do i sense an increase in the '40' rating coming up hehehe...

Ok duct tape ripped after 5 miles,. (note to self good quick fix) replaced bad tape with 24 zip ties. gear is holding strong no more noise and have clocked about 5miles on the ties already

weather tested the bike today and installed a new throttle, it rained really hard and i was soaked by the time i got home, rode 2 miles to the store and 2 miles home, the new throttle is a full twist and i think i like it better then the half twist i was using before so far. pics to come soon

36vdc 25 amp controller, 36vdc 12 Amp Hr battery pack
I feel it's my "obligation" of sorts to remind you and everyone here that SLA does not work particularly well above 1C discharge rates. This setup is:

25 amp / 12 ah = 2C

...so you are going to waste something on the order of 75% percent of your battery due to the Peukert's Effect if you use full throttle. And you might say: "Oh I'll never do that" but trust me... the "EV Grin" develops because the attractiveness of power is hard to resist.

Let me ask you this: I plan for longer rides to hook up 7ah SLAs in parallel to get more range.
Will this help protect me a little from higher current drains at near full-throttle (especially up hills).
So essentially [12 x 3 serial] x 2 parallel (or if I am crazy and rack doesn't break, 12 x 4 x 2)

Ja, mon,

We say: "3s2p" for the former (36V 14Ah), "4s2p" for the latter (crazy 48V 14Ah)
