I got like 10 saved PDF files from NASA about battery construction and torture. They are awesome. We should collect them all in one place.

I have that one. There is also one like that where they torture pouch cells.

I have one, too: I had been searching for 19-cell hexagonally packed batteries, and stumbled upon this article. I like the prep they do on the cells, including hard-anodising, a vapour-deposition coating (paraxylene), and wrapping them in mica paper. Interesting stuff. I seem to recall that something in this paper led me to learn about beryllium oxide, as well, though I don't see that mentioned at first glance.
