Hello everyone,

I am in the process of building DIY enclosure(see attached picture) for my 20Ah 48V battery, so I can mount it inside the frame of my bicycle.

What I need is a recommendation on a few waterproof connectors to and from my battery, connectors I will mount on the walls of the enclosure.

So here is a short list(I already got few ideas):

Charging port- so I can charge my battery.
Lock-So I can cut the electricity to my motor/controller with a key
A battery charge indicator- My preference is an analog round one with a dial(like in the old cars).
wattmeter

I also thinking about mounting a charger inside the enclosure, so it will be always with me, any recommendation about a compact one that will do the trick?

*I wasn't sure if this is a General Discussion or Technical so if this is not the place I apologist

Thanks.

You need IP68 connectors, they are fully waterproof, I have seen a lot of people using Speakon connectors for the power hookup too, these are used on most big PA systems, so should be able to take the current.

Thanks mate,
My main concern (besides waterproofing) is mounting on the enclosure.
for instance all the cables coming and going from the enclosure are going via metal cable glands which are very easy to mount.

I do like the Speakon connector, flat with easy mounting option and a cover when you don't use it.
I like the IP68 connectors even more, they can be mounted the same way as a cable gland and as you said are waterproof.

My battery and charger came with XLR connectors which look nice but no way to mount the battery part nicely to the enclosure. I see now that there are XRL convectors that can be mounted easily, like the one in the picture.

I use a lot of foam rubber for the battery to not move around and I use Wire tie or velco for the controller.
