Hello,

Having the battery removed and turned off, can anyone imagine or know of any negative effect of MIG or flux core welding to ebike components?

I imagine plenty of cars electronics aren't removed when their bodies are welded upon, or maybe there is a special procedure for welding upon a car like a prius.

I am sure that the poorly or ungrounded high frequency generated when TIG welding aluminum can negative effect the current operation of electronics, but that isn't really something that applies to my situation or this question.

I'd remove the parts, to keep spatter off the wiring mostly.

Welding an aluminum frame is said to require a repeat of the heat treatment, to properly temper the frame. Steel frames may get the same post weld heat cycle, but the welding wrecks the temper less with steel.

I'm a teacher at a welding school. We instruct students to always disconnect the ground lead from the battery of a vehicle prior to welding.
Also, keep the welders Ground Clamp as close to your work as possible. Clean surface to be welded and ground clamp area with wire wheel/grinder or
the likes. The possibility exists that wheel bearings can produce an arc between the bearing and the bearing race, destroying the bearing.

For an E-bike, I'd remove as much as possible to avoid damage to sensitive electronics, and keep that Ground Clamp connected to a clean and be
closest to your work being welded.

If you have and suspension fork or shock, protect them from SPLATTER! The chrome needs to be smooth and pit free as not to ruin the seals

There are many other factors not covered here for both Safety and weld success for welding.
I take none, zero, no responsibility for people actions leading to any misfortunes. I recommend a welding course :)
