Hello all, new user here.

I've been dropping my children off at daycare with my bicycle for about a year now, the bike is a Workcycles Kr8 bakfiets. It worked well for me up until recently, when I moved to a city with lots more hills and better infrastructure but longer distances. So I decided to order a Bafang mid-drive from Luna Cycles.

I've just now gotten it installed. Here are the specs:

Workcycles Kr8 bakfiets
Shimano roller brakes front and rear
Shimano Nexus 8-speed IGH
Bafang BBS-02
Panasonic 13.5AHr battery, 48v
DPC-18 display

I love it so far, it's a game-changer for this 100+ pound bike in a city. The only issues I've noticed so far:

The display seems to like to read 100% all the time so far. Maybe it will become more accurate after a couple charge cycles? I've gone about 16 miles and no drop in charge. It also reads 51.1 volts, which my math shows to be around 80%.

I'm not sure how to rig up something to discharge the battery for storage - winter is coming and I don't want to accidentally store it at 100% for months.

And I got Luna's basic charger which doesn't allow for charging to only 80%. Mistake?

Any helpful hints and links are appreciated. Thanks!

The battery icon on these and other systems are not accurate but you have discovered what is accurate, the volts reading, use this as your battery guage. It should read 54.6 at full charge with your 48v battery, and 42 or so volts it will be empty and shut off.

If you want to discharge a bit for storage go for a short ride,
