Greetings

I have invented a new kinetic battery design. This design is similar to the standard flywheel battery model with one important distinction, namely the incorporation of the principle of rotary modulation.

To learn more about this important discovery please visit my yahoo group that is dedicated to the possible improvement to and implementation of this new battery design.

Hi David, thank you for the invite.

For the rest of y'all:

David's apparatus is an extension of the flywheel, incorporating electromotive elements (coils/magnets) to retrieve the energy from the rotating mass. Furthermore, the shape of the apparatus resembles a downward pointing cone, filled with ballast that is forced up the sloping interior walls as rotor speed increases... the ability of the ballast to rise (and lower) aids in a more consistant rotational speed and subsequent voltage generated. The apparatus may be constucted simply, as rotational speeds are projected to be low compared to conventional flywheels.

The concept is interesting... and as with many inventions/discoveries, practical utilization is yet to be evaluated. Static applications are most likely, as with most flywheel-type devices (due to the effects of precession or gyro forces).

All you have to do to negate gyroscopic forces in a flywheel energy storage system is have two counter rotating flywheels.

The net gyroscopic forces are zero in a system with two identical flywheels turning in opposite directions.
