Anyone know where to get these? Without spending an arm and a leg? Working on a trike, also saw the giant halfway-- looked cool.

You might try craigslist for kiddie trailers & baby-joggers... some have stub-axles, some have through-axles.

Not sure what arm/leg value you're working to, but Phil Wood make wheelchair hubs:

You can also get a Pantour suspension hub in a one sided version:

Do you mean tadpole trike or lwb trike?

I am building a tadpole trike and intend to use off the shelf 20mm front hubs with disc mount holes. pricepoint.com has some cheap.

Tadpole or conventional... I'm not sure yet which style I will go for. I'd prefer tadpole but it's harder to build. I'd need to find all the steering bits to make it work.

How do you get away with using the standard hubs?

Speaking of which I realized I could use some bushings for full suspension bike building. I bought cheesy springs from TNCscooters but they don't sell the bushings as far as I can tell. I "borrowed" one off an exercise machine but it is far too sloppy for a bicycle, unless you like your ride to be unstable. Hard to do full suspension without having a proper pivot point :)

Check out http://www.greenspeed.com.au They sell all the individual components for their trikes. Not cheap  but excellent quality.

I run Sachs drum brakes on my trike, but they also do disk setups as well.

20 mm front hubs are designed for a through axle so I think a large shoulder bolt welded to a king pin should work with a nut to retain the hub.

Try WeRelectrified! They had very reasonable front hubs with six hole disc brake adapters. U would have to change the bearings to 14mm, 1/2" or perhaps 20 mm axles, but the latter is overkill. My Tricruiser uses 14mm in BMX standard hubs. Quite strong and cheep!

How about this hub? Only $20 too.

That looks like it would work. The 3/8 axle is marginal for hard cornering or rough roads on a tadpole. Prolly need bigger bearings and axle also!

this place sells the hub or wheel and hub. i use 5/8 axle on my trike. the bearings they use are radial. the hub is from a Miami sun trike. they also sell the rear trike carrier and 4/8 axle. simce i went to there wheels ive had no problems. spokes are 12 guage (105) I also broke 1/2 inch axles and with the 5/8 no axle problems

this is the wheel i use, if you order it tell them what size bearing you want as they come 15 mm or 5/8 id and 35 mm od
