PAnasonic 18650 3400mah

Bout to buy NCR18650B 3400mah for 18650 panasonic battery it is only 0.2C I have 48v 1500w Bldc motor was hoping for 13s7p. Is this sufficient?

I am no battery expert, but I believe it is rated at 1C or 2C, based on this spec sheet (if you see toward the bottom, they have a graph for 2C):

http://na.industrial.panasonic.com/sites/default/pidsa/files/ncr18650b.pdf

The same battery goes into Tesla EVs, but you probably wont be able to carry such a huge pack. You will probably have to hook up 10 of these in parallel to get at least 10C rating.

I am curious too whether anyone here has tried the 18650B for their packs. Really fine batteries.. it's just that the discharge rate is too low, and you may see a lag in performance.

Here's another discussion regarding the same topic: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=42646

Hope this helps.

No, it does not. It is (was) panasonic BE, not B which has only half the power of BE.

One guy tried panasonic B in a pack for stealth fighter, you can search forum.

I wouldn't recommend panasonic B for this application, you should buy LG MJ1 or Samsung 35E which are cheaper, have more capacity, and double the power.

Riba,

I think it would be cool if you would make a recommend list for the assorted 18650 batteries.I mean for example for e-bikes,so many ask if this or that 18650 is good or not.
The list would change over time due to battery technology.I know many would appreciate it.

Some e-bikers want longest range with moderate speed.Others want higher speed and less range.Etc. etc.

Just an idea rolling around.

Thanks for all that you do.

Tim.

Why is a high discharge battery important when selecting cell to build for ebike

I appreciate the link u sent me but do uno ne other suppliers that u Cld recommend are there be vendors from alibaba that are reliable. Best quote for shipping so far is $310. Hard to justify that amount

Don't buy from them, I almost lost 900$ because of them, they ship illegally and when customs seize and destroy your package, they refuse to give you your money back.
While you may not want to pick that specific vendor, note that Aliexpress has a guarantee and their entire business model is to facilitate safe shopping with China.

Yes, Alibaba has risk.

I actually bought a $7000 laser cutter through Alibaba and wired all of the money up front and took the risk and had no problem and it works great, but the risk is there.

So Aliexpress is ok, Alibaba is not ok. That is very good to know.
I wouldnt want to risk $1 with Alibaba.

Gotta love first post PLUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont buy from Aliexpress where they can give you a refund, buy from a first poster plugging tomobattery.com, safest bet ever!!! (Can you read my sarcasm?)

Don't buy from them. Before purchasing you should do more survey. Listen to some suggestions from professional guys.
I am not an expert, but my husband knows it very well.
Last week he bought 200pcs of Panasonic 3400mAh from http://www.tomobattery.com

If you guys want a deal, there are some amazing deals out there right now. Just keep your eyes peeled.
For example $3.50 CDN buys me 30Amax discharge 18350's from a reputable company. Brand name ones too. There are in the low 2Ah range, but the punch, well ;)
Same site other Sale items, near the 3Ah mark 10A ones. Out of Europe ;)

@ archer
Evvatech have a good reference list of 18650's, specs etc. click on the 'service' tab and download the catalog (pdf)
It'll save riba a ton of work!
Evvatech are sposed to be reputable suppliers but I havent used them personally...
I'm about to though- unless anyone would recommend to the contrary.

I have 1500w Bldc mid drive bins motor with either Lyen 12 controller or the ku36 17amp max 35amp sine wave range is important but I want to be able to reach the max top speed so far it's 52km/h. Decided the lg mj1 3500 10amp discharge rate. My best quote is $3.65usd for 200cell. With DhL shipping $192usd to Aus seller is Karen Guo Shenzhen staring Technolgy in the process of asking what assurances she can offer me to show its genuine product. Are there many fakes around and why are Chinese manufactured importing cells from Korea or Japan. Any feedback advice is appreciated

That price seems cheaper than I'd expected, but I could easily be wrong. Things are a lot cheaper in China. I was guessing $5 plus shipping.
Generally going to the cheapest random vendor is asking for fakes or massive shipping surcharges. And there are heaps of fakes out there.

The company looks new, I'd just order a sample first. Surely they can send a sample for under $30.
They seem to accept paypal, so that's good.

MXUS has some low MOQ batteries available.
