Anybody have experience with these drives ?...Panasonic NUA 035HB.
Obviously needs a custom frame / b bracket mods, but what about the controllers ?, performance ?, reliability ?
They are cheap @ $300, but Are they likely to be worth the effort of reworking a frame for ?

Hi,
i have some panasonic drive bikes FLyer. So the controller is integrated in the motor. The performance is 400- 500w max.It has also integrated torque sensor. With the panasonic system, the assistance from the motor depends from your pedal cadence. You get the maximum assistance at lower cadence speed, on mine bikes it is at 55rpm.But you could change this with the installation of different sprockets and chainwheels. My motors are from 2009 and 2011 and i can use a custom battery, not the original which is good.If i were you, i rather look for a frame, or a used bike with panasonic motor, they are around 700,800 euro even cheaper. The performance is not like bbs bafang, but its quite nice for a city bike.

Hi

I bought this motor last month, with its display (LED display, with a little LCD screen).
Becarfull, there is not the JST male plug 14pin on the display. I found an equivalent (with a little adaptation) in digikey, in TE Connectivity AMP Connectors.
ref : 1-1969593-4 + its pin 2238008-1

And there is two brown wire on Panasonic motor side. You could see the correct plug below:

After, for 36V, you need a speed meter. If you have not a Panasonic speed meter, It's same as Sigma sport for example, you just need to plug it on the waterproof connector (wire grey+black), with an adaptation of connector... The magnet is generic...
I plug my Sigma speed meter on my both cycle counter and motor. And now, I had just one speed meter + magnet for two equipment. (with difficulties)

So, I mount this motor yesterday, and tested it this morning (with motor sproket 14 teeths)... It's a bomb, compare to my BBS 48V/750W (with no trottle), it's more powerfull on the higher level (but maybe my BBS not correctly programmed).
The assistance did not stopped at 45km/h... at 50 I always assisted... but....there the decrease start at 47km/h (on Panasonic cycle counter).

For the consumption, I consume 40% of my battery (12Ah/36V) in 17km...

Compare to my 26V/250W with 14 teeth Sproket Motor :
- I have to push on my pedale to arrive to 32/33km/h on high level
- In level 2 on 36V/350W, I arrived to 35km/h easily

I have a question, on my motor, I have a plug where I can't see its correspondance. Do you know it ?
