Ping Battery Charger

I just got my ping battery and charger. The three wires on the battery are labeled but I don't know what prongs on the charger to connect them too. The charger prongs are marked 1,2 and 3......any suggestions ?

1 is + and 3 is -. I would definitely double check with multimeter.

So the wires on my battery are: positive, charging negative and discharging negative.

So do I connect 1 to positive, 2 to ?, and 3 to ?

The negatives are confusing me...

Hi bgoates. Since they don't send the batteries and chargers with a connector installed, most of us just remove the connector on the charger and use our own preference for a connector. The chargers normally have a plug that connects to whatever standard scooter the charger was designed for. Even though they have three prongs, only two of the prongs are connected to the two wires coming from the charger. The positive wire (normally red, but check with a volt meter) connects to the positive wire from the battery and the negative wire connects to the "charging" negative. This negative wire takes a different path through the BMS and thus prevents over charging while helping balance the cells. The other negative is connected to the controller negative and that path through the BMS prevents over discharging during use of the battery. Of course the common positive must also be connected to the controller.
