Hello, my mxus 3k turbo hub motor was seizing when not driving, when I took apart the motor with bearing puller my stator disintegrated. I think it was corroded. magnets and rotor seem a bit rusted but in overall good shape. Motor was recently re-laced in new rim and I'm wondering if i could purchase mxus xf40 30h 1000w hub motor and use its stator, as I don't need the extra power 3k turbo provided and I can get it for good price. Only mechanic anywhere near me that has experience lacing hub motors is taking vacation for the winder, so that's why I'm considering this as alternative.

Are the two motors identical outer dimensions, including the distance from outside of each bearing to the other, etc? If they are, then they might be swappable. Many motors have the same stator and rotor diameter, but other dimensions don't always match up, making for a lot of DIY machining / etc to get things to fit, either by shaving off or by shimming.

These MXUS company pages show the motors look fairly different, but they don't have dimension drawings nor the same set of angles in the images, so I couldn't tell you directly if they'd swap or not.

The few dimensions they do list show the stator of the XF40 is only about 2/3 the width of the 3K, so it should have proportionally less torque just because of that.

Because of the slimmer stator, it may also have narrower bearing spacing, so the 3K covers may not securely hold the XF40 stator centered without spacers inside.

They also may have different dropout widths (so you might need to alter the axle/frame-mounting you have now); the range for the 3K is more or less centered around the single width given for the XF40, so I can't tell from that for sure.

short answer: no, it's not gonna fit, unless you have a hydraulic press to get the stator off one axle and into another, and the axle diameter is an exact match ( not likely )
