Evening gents,

I'm wondering if anyone has any information regarding PEBBs, that is, Power Electronic Building Blocks. (See figure attached)

I've tried googling around to try and find a venue from which to buy these blocks from, but I haven't had much luck.

I did find one link from ABB (http://www.abb.com/product/ap/seitp322/03806c7d1658bcadc1256dfa00449e0e.aspx), but it doesn't give much information regarding the different types of blocks that they might carry, or how you can order them.

More specifically, I'm looking for a block that I could use as a half H-bridge for a motor controller for an electric motorcycle.

The motor for the motorcycle is rated for 48V, 100A continuous and 300A for up to one minute.

Any more information anyone has on these PEBBs (such as where to find/buy them) would be greatly appreciated!

You're probably looking for this:

There are post here in the forum about it.
They're quite pricey though...

PEBB. It's been a while. Like 15 or 20 years ago there was a push by the Navy to develop standardized power electronic modules and they called them PEBB. I recall reading some papers on it. I think it was pre-internet so not much remains for google to find. It was an attempt to have a single design converter for either direction, any voltage, AC or DC, any power within just a few ranges, with a standard control protocol so the PEBB could be used in any system without modification. The one part does everything concept.
